Checkr welcomes Luca Bonmassar to lead Engineering and Data as the new Chief Technology Officer.
Today, Checkr is excited to announce the appointment of Luca Bonmassar as Chief Technology Officer. With over two decades of leadership in the software industry, Luca brings deep technical expertise and knowledge from his experience as a serial startup founder in HR tech and large-scale engineering leader. He will oversee all engineering teams with a focus on engineering excellence and achieving the highest reliability and performance for our customers.
Before joining Checkr, Luca led platform engineering at Coinbase, where he drove the re-architecting of Coinbase into microservices, distributed mesh/edge services, and a multi-region platform. Prior to Coinbase, he was a technical leader at Citadel, where he played a key role in their cloud transformation, including the transition of non-trading activities away from privately owned data centers. Earlier in his career, he worked in telecommunications at Vodafone and Nokia.
"In addition to his experience as a startup founder in HR tech, Luca exemplifies humility and grit and is a very strong technical and cultural leader,” said Checkr CEO and Co-Founder, Daniel Yanisse. “Luca will be a critical partner to me as he scales our platform to support our next ten years of growth and positions Checkr to continue evolving into a multi-product company.”
"I am excited to join Checkr at a time when the company is expanding our platform into new product areas and rapidly adding new enterprise customers," said Luca. "I look forward to building upon our existing innovations and helping ship new technology to our customers at a faster pace than ever.”
Luca lives in the Bay Area with his wife and two daughters.
